Third Script

“The word Third Script is derived from a statement by the Persian mystic Shams-e-Tabrizi who was the inspiration for Rumi and his volumes of poetry. Their poetic relationship, poetry and philosophy was a major influence in my life when I was growing up.

Shams says:

That Calligrapher wrote in three scripts:

One he could read and everyone else!

The second he could read but no one else!

The Third neither he nor anyone else could read!

That Third [script] is Light (Shams)!”
